We offer transformative education integrating high-quality academics, with the teaching of Catholic values.
We achieve this by focusing on the development of the whole child spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically.
There is much evidence of the visible symbols of the Catholic faith:
Weekly Mass and all forms of prayer are a vital part of school life
Celebrations of liturgical seasons and traditional Church practices
Annual retreats are held for both faculty and students
Daily readings of scripture and the utilization of prayer corners/tables in each room
Expectations for students, families, and coaches to foster good Christian sportsmanship
Church teachings and Gospel values are identifiable in the philosophy, school mission and staffing practices, including assessments and evaluations
Each school is a faith community within an academic community, where the intensive collaboration among parents, students and staff, results in a comprehensive learning environment.
In addition to the basic skills in Language, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Religion, Catholic Schools incorporate other key disciplines into the curriculum. Our schools also offer:
Foreign language studies – Spanish and Latin are offered Diocese wide, with select schools offering other languages like German and Chinese
Technology learning through computer skills classes and other special programs that allow our schools to offer opportunities on the forefront of technology
Music programs including orchestra, musical theater, choir, and theatre.
The curriculum in our Catholic schools is designed to prepare students for college and beyond. Serving Pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, the Catholic schools provide a Christ-centered education in which Catholic identity permeates the entire curriculum. The curriculum encourages our students to reach their fullest capacity and teaches the whole child, spiritually, academically, physically and socially. Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Austin uses the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) state standards, which have been adopted by the Texas State Board of Education.
Service-learning is core to our Faith and is integrated at each school through required community service projects and a minimum of community service hours.
It is our commitment to provide an environment that is safe and nurturing.
As Christians, we have a moral and legal responsibility and are entrusted by God with the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of minors and vulnerable adults as they participate in activities within or sponsored by our Catholic schools. Our Catholic schools follow the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry program (EIM). EIM compliance is required of all clergy, religious, seminarians, diocesan employees, parish and Catholic school employees, and lay persons who volunteer in ministry with minors or vulnerable adults, or in any ministry, program or organization that serves youth or vulnerable adults in any manner, or functions at a time and place where they are typically present. To be compliant, one submits an EIM Application for Ministry (one time only) and attends an EIM Workshop every three years. Read more on EIM policies and documents about protecting children and the vulnerable from preventable harm.
Building Culture & Community in an Inclusive Environment
By creating an inclusive learning environment, healthy relationships are created with parents, school board members, staff, faculty, and administration. Additionally, pastoral relationships with parish, alumni and other community members provide opportunities for fellowship and social gatherings.
Our Catholic schools form a faith community that invites its members to pray and to worship. They are also places of evangelization where the Gospel message is proclaimed. Additionally, our schools provide opportunities for members to transform the world through justice and service.
