The Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) is administered annually each February in the Catholic elementary schools.  The Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED) is administered on an optional basis in the Catholic high schools.  High school students take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

The Assessment of Catechesis for Religious Education (ACRE) is administered annually to students in grades 5, 8, 9, and 11 or 12.  The assessment measures knowledge of the Catholic faith, liturgy, sacraments, scripture, Christology, church history and prayer.


Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Austin are accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) which is recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).  Several Catholic schools are dual accredited with the Southern Association of Colleges and School (SACS) and Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS).
