St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School is a co-educational school located on a beautiful campus in northwest Austin, Texas. The school is Catholic, with an emphasis on faith formation intended to prepare young men and women to become faith-filled, visionary and inspirational leaders in service to the Church and world.
At St. Dominic Savio, all classes prepare students to matriculate to four-year universities, whether public or private. For the more advanced student, who performs at a higher level and rigorous pace, or who is able to handle college level work in high school, we offer over 30 Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) and Advanced Placement (AP) level courses. Savio students score well above the national average on AP exams.
The school offers extensive classes in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Instructional methods provide 21st century classroom experiences for all students, which incorporate cooperative learning and problem solving approaches, along with technology integration to enhance learning. The school offers four years of engineering and computer science programs through Project Lead the Way curriculum, the leading STEM solution in the United States. These experiences provide a solid foundation for college preparation and career readiness.
There are many opportunities for students to engage their interests through various clubs, honor societies and competitive teams. These activities provide Savio students with enriched opportunities to excel in robotics, academics, and fine arts. Savio students have had several regional and state finishes in academic competition, has earned four state championships in music and the Robotics team that has been twice-ranked internationally.
St. Dominic Savio offers athletic programs in football, cross country, volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, swimming, baseball, tennis, golf and track and field. Savio athletes have won numerous championships at the district, regional and state level.
All graduates of Savio receive Distinguished Diplomas, with one of four endorsements: Multidisciplinary Studies, Arts and Humanities, STEM, and Business and Industry.
