Description:  The Diocese of Austin is seeking qualified candidates to be the next leader of Reicher Catholic High School, located in Waco, Texas.  Reicher is a thriving high school with a rich history in Waco for over 50 years with a current enrollment of approximately 219 students.

The mission of Reicher is to educate each student in spirit, mind and body by fostering personal excellence within the Catholic tradition. Reicher is a co-educational college preparatory school offering a challenging curriculum including honor courses, advanced placement and dual credit. Along with the excellent academic program, Reicher also has many extra-curricular academic, fine arts and athletic student activities.

The ideal candidate will possess the inspirational leadership and communication skills needed to take charge of this small, academic, athletic and spirit filled high school, located in Waco, Texas, a city in a metropolitan statistical area of approximately 235,000, which is located in central Texas, halfway between Dallas and Austin. Waco is also home to Baylor University, McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College.

The successful candidate will begin their duties as soon as mid to end of June 2012.

Key Responsibilities:

• To enrich students by integrating Catholic Christian virtues in accord with a Catholic identity.
• To provide leadership and oversight in curriculum development, to supervise effective instruction of students, and to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the learning program.
• To nurture the Catholic faith and professional development of both faculty and staff.
• To organize, articulate and execute an effective development/advancement strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Catholic in good standing with a commitment to ongoing formation in spiritual leadership.
•  Master’s degree with 18 credit hours in educational administration, leadership, curriculum, instruction and supervision.
• Three years successful teaching experience at a Catholic school.
• Three years successful leadership experience at a Catholic school.

Additional desired skills and attributes:

• Strong organizational and management skills, including both human and public relations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and a desire to utilize those skills in essential communications, group dialogues and critical conversations.
• Demonstrated ability to provide motivational leadership to faculty, staff and students.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management and long range forecasting.
• Familiarity with physical plant operations.
